Go back a few centuries when there were hardly any books, and few people could read, if you were a writer you relied on actors to speak your words in plays. I think it’s very interesting to bring some actors into my Authors Studio because I think writers can learn a lot from the way actors interpret their lines and characters.

Shane Richie has performed two of my best-known characters – Victor Smiley in the play of my novella, The Perfect Murder, and Det Supt Roy Grace in the play of Not Dead Enough. He’s a truly professional actor and a genuinely nice guy, so …. a big welcome to him in the Authors Studio! I hope you all enjoy seeing him.
