ROY GRACE MASTERMIND QUIZ – Christmas 2012
Prepared by Mastermind contender, Ken Owen
WELCOME to the Roy Grace quiz for Christmas 2012! There are six signed Roy Grace hardbacks to be won, and two magnums of fine Champagne!
Roy wouldn’t be happy if you didn’t have to emulate his skills in solving some of the questions. Others should be (comparatively!) straightforward. But, as any detective knows, sometimes you have to dig deep to find the way to the answers. Look into the books, research other facts, consider the clues – and pray for inspiration! And, of course, the quiz includes some lateral thinking, into other areas than merely the books themselves. We have to test you on every level!
In the previous quizzes, only one or two achieved 50 out of 50. So don’t give up, even if you haven’t got them all – you might still have the MOST correct answers.
Please do NOT change the format of the quiz when returning your answers – it is designed so that extra columns are “pasted on” to facilitate marking. Some entries for previous Quizzes had to be “cut and pasted”, question by question, back into this table, taking considerable time.
If we have more than one reply with the highest total score, there is a tie-breaker to decide the winner. At the end of the quiz, there is space for you to write a limerick (normal five-line format) about Glenn Branson. The best of these from any tied answer sheets will be awarded the first prize. And the limericks of all entries will also be judged separately for the best one overall, with a separate prize for that, regardless of the score in the quiz section.
The main winner of the quiz gets a magnum of fine champagne and a signed hardback, with the four runners up each receiving a signed hardback Roy Grace novel too. And the best overall limerick winner will also earn a magnum of fine champagne and a signed book.
Closing date for entries is Monday 7th January 2013. Please return completed quiz sheets to email@example.com
A list of answers and notes on the questions will be made available after winners are announced. Naturally, the judges’ decision is final in all matters. Here’s hoping you find it all Dead Simple…..
