Traditional novels can benefit from the interactive treatment too. This app, from the Brighton-born thriller writer, includes ebook versions of the first and the latest titles in his detective Roy Grace series (Dead Simple and Dead Tomorrow), plus background material. It features research notes and a diary, an interview with James and, most interestingly, his handwritten editing marks on first drafts of the books. Some video and audio material would have been welcome, but this is still a bargain. It’s not hard to imagine all new novels getting similar apps in the future.
