Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

For young mum Carly, a white van man, a lorry driver and a cyclist, that wrong place is Brighton and that wrong time is when they come together in a fatal traffic accident. Then sinister forces step in to make mayhem.

And so another Roy Grace story begins, with Peter James’s diligent detective leading the hunt for a man intent on a hellish revenge.

The cyclist was a lad with powerful family connections and their idea of payback is several eyes for an eye.

Mr James conjures up the most marvellous, grisly killings – and killers.

Another great effort from the accomplished author with a thrilling climax down at the docks. I’m sure Brighton’s seen a few of those.
