Crime fiction fans who have not yet discovered James should rectify the situation immediately. His central character Detective Sup Roy Grace, still haunted by the mystery disappearance of his wife, here probes the mystery of a man who went missing during 9/11 and the deaths of his two wives.
The case brings Grace into contact with a brilliantly devious woman fugitive and an expensive collection of stamps. It is a potent cocktail, a cracking read and may well have the cutest pay-off line I have ever read.
