Not Dead Yet: Sunday Herald Sun
DETECTIVE Inspector Roy Grace is back and probably wishing he were elsewhere, as it's all happening in the city of Brighton & Hove.
Hollywood has descended on the seaside city to film a blockbuster about the great romance between King George IV and Maria Fitzherbert, with Brighton's Royal Pavilion (right) the focus.
Grace's job is to provide police protection for Gaia, a former Brighton girl who has transformed herself into the world's biggest, most exciting pop star.
Everyone is besides themselves with excitement, but when an attempt is made on the superstar's life, Grace knows he has his work cut out for him.
There are suspects aplenty, from the aggrieved scriptwriter to the star-struck fan/stalker who believes Gaia is communicating with her via TV.
But the pressure steps up a notch when Grace's girlfriend Cleo finds her Audi TT vandalised and a vitriolic message gouged into the paintwork.
Grace is convinced it's a nasty piece of work he had put away announcing his release from prison. But is it? And who is that mysterious woman dogging Grace's footsteps?
A great read that will have you wondering why anyone seeks fame and fortune - and when the next book in the DI Grace series will hit the bookshops.
