By Blogger Lyndell, at 11:58 AM

Yes, I will be coming to Australia in 2009 for an extended tour - but I don't yet know the itinerary - I will be posting it on this site nearer the time - and hope very much to see you!

All best wishes for 2008

By Anonymous pokkels, at 10:22 AM

Hi there, thanks very much for your kind words. I'm sorry you are having problems getting all my books. There is a bookstore in Cape Town called The Readers' Paradise Book Store and they seem very supportive so you could try there. Otherwise you could always get them from www.amazon.co.uk by mail order.

Hope this helps and thanks again for your enthusiasm for my work.

All very best

By Blogger Peter James, at 8:37 AM

any chance you will visit newcastle?
have enjoyed reading your last 2 books a great deal, specially as i used to live in brighton many years ago!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:16 PM

Hi Peter,
I just want to let you know how much I'm enjoying your work! I'm just finishing my first book I've read by you, Looking Good Dead, which I got from our book exchange at work, and I'm now in the process of buying all the books by you that I can. I can't believe that I've only just discovered your writing, but I'm soooo pleased that I have. I am relishing the thought of many weeks of good reading. Please keep them coming!
Kind regards,
Jackie

By Blogger Jakk, at 3:45 PM

Hi Jackie

Thank you so much for such lovely praise from you! I will keep fingers crossed you enjoy anything else of mine that you read. And I am trying to obey your instructions to keep them coming!!! My next Roy Grace "Dead Man's Footsteps" is out on June 12th - and I am now four chapters into the following one, "Dead Tomorrow."

I work in Iraq at present and have for the last 3 and a half years. I was a Police Officer in Sussex for 11 years before I had an accident and took a medical retirement. My daughter introduced me to your books. I am from the Brighton area and reading your books felt like I was back on the beat. I found myself trying to second guess you. Thank you for bringing a piece of Brighton to a crazy place like this. I have my daughter sending me the rest of your books so that should cover this 4 month deployment.
Thanks again.

Paul Beazer

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:16 PM

Hi Paul

Thanks for these really kind words - and I'm delighed to have brought a piece of slightly less crazy and slightly less dark Brighton to Iraq!

I hope you have a very safe four months and that you continue to enjoy my work - say a big thank you to your daughter from me!

All best

By Blogger Peter James, at 7:26 PM

Hi Peter

The last comment left was from my dad. I very much enjoyed your book as I live in Brighton and its great to be able to associate a book with reality.

My dad isnt a regular reader of books such as yours but i knew he would really enjoy these. I am currently reading another of your books and my dad is looking forward to me finishing it so i can send it to him in Iraq. Its nice that we can now have an intellectual conversation about books!!! Something i thought my dad and i would never have in common. lol.

Thanks

Hannah

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:58 PM

Hi Hanna

Well, I am truly flattered that my books have led to you and your dad having good conversations!!!

Thank you so much for your support and enthuasiasm - and for converting your dad as a reader!

Hi Peter

I am a avid fan of your books but since moving to Nova Scotia I can not find any of your older ones here. Do you know of any bookstores in Canada that stock them and will you be coming to Nova Scotia I would dearly LOVE to meet you?

Glenda

By Anonymous Spookyspook, at 6:18 PM

Hi Glenda

Thanks very much for these kind words. I have asked my publishers to try to find a stockist for you and will post it as soon as I know. Also, yes, I am planning a tour of Canada sometime in the next 12 months - and Novia Scotia will definitely be one of the places I will come to, so look forward to meeting you!

By Blogger Peter James, at 2:17 PM

Thanks Peter that is REALLY good news I will look out for you and thank for looking in to a supplier, it is your earlier books I am struggling with.

I wish you all the best for this year and look forward to you new books!

Glenda

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:50 AM

Hi Glenda

I've had a response from Orion, who publish my backlist, and they say that they are going to start a hard push on my backlist titles in Canada, so that should start to reflect in the stores in the coming months.

Thanks so much for your enthusiasm for my work. Now all I have to do is hope you enjoy them!!!!

By Blogger Peter James, at 6:44 PM

Hi Peter , just a note to say how much i am enjoying your Roy Grace books at the moment and looking forward to reading more in the future. I haven't been much of a book reader for a few years but have to say that you have got me hooked again, great stories that i have to read just " one more chapter" before i put the book down! Maybe see you at the Hay festival one day?
Dave, Herefordshire

By Blogger Dave, at 8:48 PM

Hi Dave

Thank you for such kind word, and I am delighted - and flattered - to have been of service getting you hooked on reading again!

I would love to return to the Hay Festival - it has been some years since I was last there and I know there have been some discussions - perhaps next year. It is a fab festival and always a joy to come.

By Blogger Peter James, at 4:17 PM

Dear Peter James,

I stumbled across your first Roy Grace novel accidentally on holiday. I paid a ridiculous amount of euros for it. However well worth every penny. From the moment I picked it up I could not put it down again until I had completed it. I now wait in anticipation for each book that follows. I see that you are not only a fantastic writer but you also have perfect taste in cars, I admire you even more.
My attention is rarely captured for more than five minutes, but I can sit for hours with one of your books.
Your have an amazing talent Mr James.

Simone

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:56 PM

Dear Simone

What a really lovely email - thank you sooooooooooo much!!!! I am honoured and very flattered. And I will keep fingers crossed that you enjoy everything else that I write in the future, as much.

Peter

By Blogger Peter James, at 1:38 PM

Hi Peter,
I found your book Not Dead Enough by chance in a booksale. I am currently reading it and finding it very hard to put down. I think you are a very talented writer. I know Brighton well, so really enjoy recognising the various locations in the book. I'm already working out which of your books to read next - looks like I'm reading Roy Grace in backwards order!
Thanks for giving me such reading pleasure! x

By Anonymous Jude, at 1:54 PM

Hi Jude

Thanks very much for this. No problems about Reading the Roy Grace series in reverse order - they are all standalone, although there is a progression in his private life throughout them, so you would probably get most out of them if you read Dead Simple next (that is if you can bear to read another one!!!)

All best

Peter

By Blogger Peter James, at 7:12 PM

Dear Mr. James
Just thought i would thank you on the excellent books that you write, just finished reading Possession, and was totally gripped all the way through, and has others have written, couldnt help but read "one more chapter" before bed, which is certainly true.
Its a welcome diversion from the current revision!

Thank you once again, and i wish you the very best of luck with your new book, which im sure will be a great success.
All the best,

James

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:18 PM

Hi James

Thank you for your kind words about my books. I'm glad you liked Possession - it was the first really book I wrote that was really successful, so it has a special place in my heart!

Good luck with your exams!

Hello

I've been an avid reader from your first Roy Grace book the whole opening chapter had me hooked .. I told everyone i could how great it was an what a hook.. I've worked both for sussex police an Brighton M.C before coming to live in Cyprus an was gutted that i missed your visits to both these places..
I can't wait for the goat post to deliver the next book ... Needless to say it will be read in sunshine and the can I blame you if i get sunburnt ??
Kind regards
Rebecca

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:03 PM

Hi Rebecca

Thanks so much for such lovely words - and crucially for reccommending me - that is that the nicest thing anyone can do for an author!

Clearly a book tour of Cyprus would be a good plan! And I will fully take the blame if you get sunburned reading Dead Man's Footsteps! Maybe I should get my publishers to attach a free tube of suncream with each copy...

All very best

By Blogger Peter James, at 10:58 PM

Hi Peter, just wanted to say i've loved all your books so far and can't wait until June 12th, Do you ever fancy coming up to do a book tour around Scotland?? Keep up the brilliant work. Lisa

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:58 PM

Hi Lisa

Thanks so much for writing these kind words. I am very much hoping to do a book tour in Scotland at some point, either this autumn/winter or next year. I haven't been up for a while, and love the country - I have travelled quite extensively in Scotalnd in the past - so I am hugely looking forward to returning. I will of course post details up here, as and when.

All very best

What can I say apart from BRILLIANT.
I cannot find one of your books that I can put down, I rush home to read them and look forward to long journeys. A couple of my favourites are Host(very imaginative) and Possession (amazing).
Everyone I recommend Roy Grace to absolutely loves it.
Keep up the good work, can't wait until June 12th!

Hi Peter, I am not normally a reader but a friend reckoned I would like your Roy Grace books, especially as I am originally from Brighton. How right she was. Two down and one to read before getting the new one next month. I am also purchasing your others as I spot them.
Thanks for getting me interested in reading again.
Looking forward to seeing you in Methvens in Worthing on 20/6.
Best regards

By Blogger Allan, at 12:49 PM

Hi Allan

Thanks so much for this post. I am very, very delighted that my books have got you interested in reading again - and great that you will be coming along to Methvens - I look forward to meeting you.

All best

Peter

By Blogger Peter James, at 11:37 AM

Hi Peter

I have to say before now I had never read any of your books which is outrageous considering I'm a huge crime/thriller novel reader and live in Cowfold, West Sussex. I have just finished Dead Simple and I couldn't put it down. It was a gripping story and I am now an avid Peter James fan! It was also so nice to know the places you mention and decribe in your book, so many of the thriller/crime novels I read are by Amercian authors, and as much as I love reading a Lee Child or Harlan Coben nothing beats thinking I've been there or I know that pub/road. I can't believe I accidently overlooked a local legend for so long but no longer, I’m out to buy Looking Good Dead at the weekend and will be planning to pop down to Brighton or Worthing at the end of June.

Best Wishes
Debbie

By Anonymous Debbie Davison, at 2:55 PM

Ooops I didn't proof that before I hit publish, apologies for the spelling mistakes!

By Anonymous Debbie Davison, at 2:57 PM

Thanks Debbie!

Do say along if you come along to one of the events.

All very best and I will keep everything crossed you continue to enjoy the Roy Grace novels.

There is a great article on Peter in the June issue of Sussex Life plus an exclusive extract from the new novel. Guess its only on sale in Sussex but they do have website www.sussexlife.co.uk

By Blogger Pip, at 9:54 AM

Peter you have made me go back to ink and paper after wasting too much time sat infront of the television. Your books are truly amazing, and are worded in such an informal style that helps me relate to the characters like no other author has!! Keep up the good work and lets hope there are many more to come! I am enjoying your Roy Grace series but am wondering if you will ever revisit any of your old characters? Would love to see a sequel to Possesion.... i'm sure there are others out there!!

By Anonymous Dan Johnson, at 4:41 PM

Hi again Peter,
I have just returned from a Peter James book buying spree - as the thought of running out of PJ reading matter is completely unthinkable!
At your suggestion, I am now reading Dead Simple and am almost at the end. Simply brilliant! Can't think of anything more terrifying than being buried alive in a coffin - made me feel panicky just reading those scenes.
Thanks again for writing such unputdownable books - trouble is nothing else gets done!
Would love to come and meet you at Brighton or Worthing in June.

By Anonymous Jude, at 1:56 PM

Hi Jude

Well, I am just so honoured! And it would be great to meet you - do come along and say hi!

Hi Peter - have just finished reading Not Dead Enough, only took me 2 days.Bloody brilliant!!
It was given to me by my mother-in-law. Father-in-law is ex-policeman who worked out of Brighton as scenes of crime photographer...
Can't believe I haven't discovered you before, I could kick myself, but am now in the process of buying the other Roy Grace novels, roll on 12th June!
Thanks for an excellent read and PLEASE keep up the good work.

Thank you for this lovely post. I'm really pleased if I helped to inspire, but I must say you all seemed very motivated - and that is essential to be a writer! Lots of luck and I hope that when you are a famous writer you will invite me to your book launches!

Peter,

Im a Mexican student doing his phd at Sussex uni in Mechanical Engineering, I have to say that besides my equation and engine books, the one hour i put into reading your novels is amazingly enjoyable, I been living in Brighton for the past 4 years and I have enjoyed each and every one of your Roy Grace novels, just today my gf was at the Sussex Bookshop getting a copy signed for me, thanks a lot for your brilliant work and hope to catch you at Borders by the end of June!

Pablo.

By Blogger Pablo, at 6:05 PM

Thanks for signing my books yesterday, I have waited a whole year for the new Roy Grace. I shall TRY to read it slowly in case I have to wait a year for the next one. Thanks gain Angie

By Blogger angie, at 11:05 PM

Hi Peter,

My sister bought me a copy of your book at the recent launch in Brighton and as usual I was keen to read it straight away. The final chapter....well I won't give the game away for anyone who has't got there yet. Do we really have to wait a whole year to find out what happens next?

Have you already decided how many books there will be in the Roy Grace series or will you just keep writing them until the ideas stop coming?

Part of me doesn't want the series to end as I am enjoying them so much but another part of me wants to know how Roy's personal issues are going to be resolved.

Kindest regards
Claire

By Blogger Claire Davis, at 9:18 AM

Hi Claire

Thanks for not revealing the end!!!!!

I have not decided how many Roy Grace books I will write, yet. At the moment I am having huge fun researching and writing them, and there is television news imminent, so I will be continuing to write one a year for the immediate future - and particlarly so long as my wonderfully supportive readers, like yourself, continue to enjoy them. There are many other, non-Roy Grace books I want to write, but they are having to wait!

All best

Peter

Dear Peter,

As a serving Essex police officer and one of your biggest fans,I can not wait for you to come to Colchester on November 29th as I live there! You certainly know which town in Essex to pick! I'm booking the time off work tomorrow!
Congratulations on Dead mans Footsteps, you truly have anamazing talent to write about policing and crime which is so accurate - unlike television progames such as The Bill, Holby Blue etc. It's so refreshing to read your books and actually believe what is going on - rather than laughing at the tv with it's inaccurate goings on!
All the best,
Mike Hinton

By Anonymous Mike Hinton, at 4:06 PM

Dear Mike

Thank you for such very kind comments - do please come and say hi after the signing.

I put a huge effort into my research, and it is enormously gratifying to get such a wonderfully complimentary email from a serving police officer - thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to write and I will keep fingers crossed that you long continue to enjoy the Roy Grace books as much as I enjoy writing them.

All best

By Blogger Peter James, at 4:36 PM

Dear Peter James

How could you do this to me.....

I've just finished Dead Man's Footsteps yet another gripping book! I neeeeeed to know what happens next!!!!

At least now I can get some sleep as always, I was unable to put it down.

Your Roy Grace novels only improve with every sentence you write. I can hardly wait for your next book, as im sure it will be even more amazing.

Yet again Mr James, thank you for ‘gracing’ us with your writing talent!

Thank you so much for entertaining me so well yet again.

By Anonymous Alec Tuttle, at 11:12 PM

Hi Peter

I have recently finished reading Dead Mans Footsteps and absolutely loved it as I have all the Roy Grace series. I can't wait to finish them to see what happens (you always make me gasp) but always feel sad when I have finished the books and cannot wait until the next ones come out. Being born and bred in Brighton it is fantastic to be able to picture the area's while I am reading.
Thank you also for my signed copy of the book which my dad, Derek Jones, picked up from you on your recent signing in Brighton.
He has always told us how he knew you and that you used to go skiing in a group together and i know he was very happy to catch up with you again after all these years.
Carry on the good work.

Dear Peter

I see that you are coming over to the Antipodes in 2009 - can I hope that that includes a visit to lovely New Zealand?

I am an ex-pat Brit living over here (previously lived in Ditchling in East Sussex!!) - love your Roy Grace books and would love to catch up with you on this side of the world

Hi Peter

I started reading your books 18 months ago after finding one in a villa I was renting in Tenerife - the book was Looking Good Dead. Since then I've tracked down and bought every book you've written (apart from your first three that are out of print). Just finished Denial and thought it was your best (apart from the Roy Grace books). I now have a very large circle of friends reading your books. Don't know what I'm going to do now I've read them all - probably start from the beginning again! Can not wait for the fifth Roy Grace book. You're an amazing writer - I've read Karin Slaughter, Richard Mantanari, Tess Geritsen, etc. etc. etc. and they don't come close to yours.

Regards

Jan
PS I've been waiting for you to come up north for ages - then you come up to Liverpool and I'm in Lanzarote!!!!

Hope to meet you soon.

By Anonymous Jan Howarth, at 9:33 PM

Hi Jan

Thank you for this amazing high praise! Wow, I'm very flattered. And very thrilled that so many of your friends are reading me!

Now this is really bad timing to be in Lanzarote!!!! Have a brilliant time there and hope, too, that we meet up on a future book event.

By Blogger bernie, at 8:40 PM

Hi Peter, just returned from your reading in Hagen. It was great to hear you read this shortstory and excerpts from Not Dead Enough - I will definetely buy further Roy Grace stories in English! I am looking forward to reading the whole Roy Grace series (just know the first novel until now) Thanks for signing my books. Kind regards, Iris

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:34 PM

Hello Peter

I'm really enjoying the Roy Grace books and have a request and a question which I hope you take the right way.
If for any reason you were unable to complete another Roy Grace book, can you please let someone know what the Sandy secret was and how you were going to reveal it.
Roughly how long will we have to wait for the next one?
Steve - Kent

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:20 PM

Hi Steve

Thank you for your kind comments!

Now, I'm beginning to sense a conspiracy among my readers, but hope it is just my natural paranoia! You are the second person in a week to suggest that I do this. What do you all know that I don't???????

But seriously, that is actually in hand.... but of course I will make it a challenge worth of Roy Grace's powers of investigation!

Hi Peter James.
I just read "Dead Simple" which I bought through Readers Digest. I could write a lot about how superb it was and the way I had to go to the end of it, because I hated the stress of the suspense!!It did not help!
Then I started the second book in the trilogy and by page 35 Chapter 6, I found a mistake in your continuity, and wondered if you had been told it many times?
In "Dead Simple" the Sussex CID are in a refurbished factory, and in "Looking Good Dead", they are in a refurbished art deco 1950s built hospital for contagious diseases! Now, I wonder what I shall find in the next book. You also need a better proof-reader for spelling mistakes!
Fantastic read though, and I shall look out for more of your work.

By Anonymous Shirley Hamilton, at 6:24 PM

Thanks, Shirley - well spotted. I changed it because originally I had been told it had been built as a factory, then later I learned the full history. But congratulations you are the first out of all the readers to point this out!!!

Glad you are enjoying the books so much.

Best regards

Peter

By Blogger Peter James, at 4:10 PM

Dear Peter,
I still cannot get the reading out of my head which I attended in Hagen last Wednesday evening at Thalia bookstore. It was so cool listening to you reading from Not Dead Enough - I was wondering about how the story will go on all time since. So I just bought it onLine and will start reading immediately after delivery. As the others say - you got me hooked. :-) Best wishes, Iris

Hi Iris

Peter

By Blogger Peter James, at 8:39 PM

I cannot believe nobody else found the error before!! Is it because I come from the older generation that I always spot spelling mistakes and errors? (I am 73)
By the way, I tried first to click on the CONTACT site and neither your own site at scary, or your agents address were accepted. Can you update your web site or delete those points of reference. A one fingered typist like me spends ages writing their sentences and to have to do it all again was frustrating. This is the first time I have ever read or written to a blog site, and I shall probably never do so again. If you are in Birmingham any time, I may be able to come to one of your signing/reading sessions, but I see no mention of Brum in your calendar. Have you ever been?

By Anonymous Shirley Hamilton, at 8:48 PM

Hi Shirley

My technical guy has checked out the site and all the links are functioning fine so it may have been a technical problem at your end or with your service provider.

I haven't been to Brum for a while but I am sure I will during the next year or so, as I always love comeing to your city.

We all enjoyed it immensely and have all since read all 4 Roy Grace books. I have also recommended your books to my mum, dad, boyfriend, sister, and they are all hooked!!! Keep up the great writing!!

Hi Louise

Hi Peter,
Just thought you'd like to know you now have another fan - my Mum!! On a recent visit I took Dead Simple for her to read and she phoned me this evening to say she's hooked! She says it's a real page turner (of course, I already know that!!) and she says that you are a brilliant writer. At 86 and three quarters, perhaps she's one of your oldest readers?
Looks like I'll be visting again soon, to take the next 3 Roy Grace books up to her.
Hope your well, Peter and enjoying your new car! I see you're coming to Crawley soon - will maybe see you then..xx

By Anonymous Judith, at 8:01 PM

Sorry, that should read - hope YOU'RE well....... I hate bad grammar!!!

By Anonymous Judith (again!), at 8:04 PM

Hi Judith

Thanks so much for this. I'm always very interested to know who my wonderful readers are, and to know they are enjoyed across such a wide age range - so please that a big hi to her from me!

All best and it would be great if you can make my event.

Hi Peter
Starting with a few of your books, I became addicted to good crime novels so I have now a Peter James book collection! I've just finished "Dead Man's Footsteps" which is absolutely brilliant for the twisting action, lively characters, unexpected and open final and I am going now back, to your old books and I wish never they finished even if I am at the very last page and I have to thank you for these feeling. Being Romanian, I am even more impatient for your next book, I know you are busy but please write it quick!
Have a Good Christmas, Peter!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:48 PM

Hiya Peter,
Just received your latest news letter and was really pleased to learn that Dead Man is out in PB next week. I first read one of your books by chance about 15 years ago, Twighlight. I fell in love with your writing then, and think I can safely say I have read most of your stuff over the years. Last year on a round the world trip I stumbled across a tatty copy of The Prophecy on a campsite in Rotorura in NZ. I was ecstatic, being on a tight budget we didn't have a lot of money for reading material so I was made up to find the little gem tucked away with all the Barbara Bradford Taylor and the Harold Robbins stuff. Also while we were away on the same trip your last book came out, Not Dead Enough. Money was still too tight to mention and I remember looking across enviously as a girl on holiday on the beach in Ko Samui was laid in the sun reading it!! Later that day I went to an email cafe and emailed my mum to get me a copy ready for me getting home in January :-) You are a brilliant writer, and very knowledgable on your subjects. Your books are a pleasure to read, and the sort of books that leave a void in your life once you've finished it. Looking forward to many more!!
All the best
Michelle

By Blogger Michelle, at 10:15 PM

Firstly thank you Charlotte - you are hugely good for my ego!!!!!

Thank you Michelle for these wonderfully kind words. I'm honoured to be creating a void in your life!!!!! Working hard on the edit of my next Roy Grace "Dead Tomorrow" and hard at work planning the 6th in the series. It is all the more a joy when I get such lovely comments as this.

Very best wishes

Peter

Have a wonderful holiday season and a good rest with your family! cheers, A. Jan

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:00 AM

I very much want to come to NZ too - I was in the North Island in Jan 2007 on book tour, but will definitely come back. Thanks so much for your enthusiasm!

By Blogger Peter James, at 3:46 PM

Peter I would so Like meet you, i have never enjoyed reading so much..I have passed them onto my parents and they too are hooked. I admire such talent knowing how difficult it must be writing a book let alone one the is so incredibly good. I sent you an email. Im in Tenerife ..would love to see you maybe you could come over with your family there is a beautiful rural 15th century hotel just round the corner..come and relax in the new year!!!! with much love , merry crimbo to you and yours and fab 2009.looking foward to seeing you.x

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:30 PM

Hello Peter! My mother in Durham told me how much she enjoyed your books, particularly the Roy Grace ones as I worked in Brighton for a number of years and now live in Sompting. She had 3 coincidences where Not Dead Enough was either sent in error from a book club or delivered to her from the local library.
I was clearing out the loft recently and | box fell from a shelf and out popped Not Dead Enough!! My late wife must have had it stored there I guess.
Even Frannie Monsanto would have been spooked by this I reckon!! Keep up the good work I am hooked and on my 7th book now!

Best wishes,

Graham Rowley

By Anonymous Graham Rowley, at 12:57 AM

hi peter, i have been reading your blog and cannot believe how busy you are, its hardly suprising though with the fascinating books you write, i was introduced to your book "twilight" by a relative and i could not put it down, i really enjoyed it, from then on i got "faith" from the library again very much enjoyed so from then on i went out and bought every other book you have wrote and every book is as brilliant as the last, i am really looking foward to reading all of your new books in the future.

thankyou for your brilliant books and hope you have a merry christmas

Hi Kellann

Tnanks so much for your kind words. Well, I'm sure you'll be happy to know (although my family is not!) that I will be locked away in my study most of the Xmas break working on the edit of my new Roy Grace, "Dead Tomorrow". Hopefully I will surface for some alcohol and food!!!!

By Blogger Peter James, at 4:52 PM

Hi Peter

I am a huge fan of your recent Roy Grace novels and so much of your earlier work. I have just finished ..Footsteps which was by far the best to date and I am eagerly looking forward to the next instalment!
One quick question - I am a fan of the supernatural/horror genre so do you have any plans to revisit your earlier roots and write along the lines of the excellent Possession/Sweet Heart??

Paul

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:52 AM

Hi Paul

Thanks for these hugely kind words and I'm really pleased with your comments about Dead Man's Footsteps.

Re supernatural - actually, yes I do1 I'm writing a short novel - more a "novella" for the "easy reads" for World Book Day 2010 - it will be called "The Perfect Murder" and will contain some supernatural/scary elements! I am also working on a novel on designer babies, (a long work in progress) which will be more in my hold "chiller" vein - hopefully for 2011 publication.

All very best for the New Year

Peter

By Blogger Peter James, at 11:01 AM

The Roy Grace series is seriously brilliant!! Oddly enough I discovered you on a coach where someone had left a copy of Dead Simple (echos of Looking Good Dead??!! which I am glued to at the moment) Of course I had to dash out to get the other 3 which my husband then had to fight me for! I live in Bedford but spend quite a lot of time in Brighton as for me it's simply the best place in the country.

Good luck with Dead Tomorrow - can't wait for it and a Happy New Year to you

By Anonymous Viv, at 9:59 AM

Hi Viv

Tbanks for such really kind words and for taking the time and trouble to write.

I always love hearing about how readers have discovered me and your story of the coach is a gem!!!!!

Dear Peter,
As an avid crime reader I discovered your books at the end of last year 2008 and have read all the Grace books now and look forward to the next one. I live south West of England and wondered if you are in the County at all in the near future, because we have a Book Festival in a little place called Appledore, now in it.s third year. We are lucky enough to have Colin Dexter this year. So Iwondered is you be interested? We have a web site if you cared to have a look. I think your books are excellant and grab your readers interest from the first page. LOOKING FOWARD TO jUNE

Hi Peter, Thanks yet again for keeping me entertained for so long.
Dead Tommorow more than lives up to my high expectations and was well worth waiting for. How will you ever beat this latest adventure?

By Anonymous Alec Tuttle, at 1:45 PM

Just read 'Denial' Hey I'm 10 years behind. Absolutely fantastic, a wonderful novel. I became addicted to it.

What's with Dr. Michael Tennant being "not hungry" then two lines down..."hungry". That irritated me :| *flips coin*

By Anonymous Thomas, at 11:43 AM

Thanks so much Thomas.

Gosh did I make the error and no one in my publshers picked it up at proof state? I am abroad at the moment but will check this out when I get back. Can you give me the chapter/page number?
