Hopefully the Canadian Book Tour will be confirmed soon. You have a great new series going with the Grace novels & I am looking forward to your sining my copies. When does the nest one come out?

By Anonymous Charlie, at 6:25 PM

Thanks, Charlie, so much for these kind words. The next in the series, "Not Dead Enough" will be published in the UK on June 1st, and I would think in Canada shortly after. I am not sure when I will be doing the Canadian tour, but will post up the details as soon as I know.

All very best

By Blogger Peter James, at 5:25 PM

Loved the Grace books and have started on the other titles but surprised that neither Borders, Waterstone's or Sussex Stationers are carrying copies of these, especially as you are a local author. I am having to order them from Amazon.

By Anonymous Annie, Brighton, at 7:48 PM

Hi Annie

Thank you very much for these kind comments about the Roy Grace series. I'm very sorry that you are having problems getting my backlist titles in Brighton bookshops. Unfortunately part of the problem is that I change publishers for the Grace series to Macmilland and my backlist is handled by Orion. I have forwarded your comment to Orion and they have promised to take immediate action on this.

I will keep fingers crossed that you are able to get the titles you want, and that you enjoy them! Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to write.

Very best regards

Peter

Dear Peter:

Searching everywhere for another of your wonderful stories, having just finished Dead Simple. Managed to get Dreamer at a secondhand book store but there was nothing at the library.

I see that you are visiting New York for your USA trips. It would be wonderful if you could get to places such as Chicago, or Phoenix AZ for exposure in the States. I believe there is a vast market for your books here.

Keep on writing!

By Anonymous Margaret aka 'Twinkies', at 10:49 PM

Hi Margaret, many thanks for this and apologies for the very tardy reply. I am hoping for a full US tour sometime next year, so please keep an eye on my schedule posts.

All very best and thanks so much for your enthusiasm for my work.

Peter,
I thought I read somewhere that you would be having a signing of the new book at Waterstones in Bournemouth?
Do you know the date?
My sister Sue is heading down to say hello (and buy a book or 2 !)
Jo

By Anonymous Jo, at 11:10 AM

Hi Jo

Apologiesl, because of my website crash all last week, courtesy of Easynet.... a massive amount of data is now missing, including the past two months off my blog.

I am doing the signing at Waterstones, Castlepoint, Bournemouth on Saturday June 16th 12-1pm. It would be really terrific to meet Sue and please tell her I look foward to seeing her very much.

All best

Peter

By chance, I picked up both of the first two Roy Grace novels in a local bookstore a couple of weeks ago. I devoured Dead Simple in a few days and have been pacing myself on Looking Good Dead ever since pending the arrival of the next in the series. I passed Dead Simple to my wife three days ago and she has now nearly finished it as well (subsequently all other chores, etc have been put on the back burner!) Well, what can I say - this series is the best I have read for a long time and I can only hope that Roy Grace continues along the same lines as perhaps Hercule Poirot or Tweedy! Being from Eastbourne originaly and having spent a lot of my youth in Brighton (yes, I still support the Seagulls), it's fantastic to read a book and recognise most of the locations from the text. Congratulations on an absolutely stunning series! PS Is it true that Dead Simple is to be made into a TV series?

By Anonymous Keith Moorton, Athens, at 1:32 PM

Hi Keith

Thanks for these extremely kind words. Dead Simple and all the Roy Grace novels have been in development for some time for tv but I am detemined to keep an element of control and I want to have an unknown actor play Roy Grace, rather than one of the stock of exisiting tv stars who play everything... so it is likely to be some while yet before he comes to the screen... I will post information on my site as and when there is news.

All very best and I will keep fingers crossed you and your wife continue to enjoy my work.

By Blogger Peter James, at 6:01 PM

Hello from Sweden!

I'm a teacher and I'm really looking forward to read Roy Grace number two and three during the summer break.

Your books together with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine is a bless!

By Anonymous Eva, at 6:42 PM

Hi Eva

Thanks very much! An I like the sound of the combination of book plus drinks!

By Blogger Peter James, at 1:47 PM

Hi Peter

I started reading your books because my sons christian names are Peter James and I love crime novels. I am so glad I did, I can't wait to read Not Dead Enough which I have just bought. I have only just been told that you visited Bournemouth in June I am so disappointed to have missed you and I do hope you will come to Dorset again soon.

Best wishes

Lyn

By Anonymous Lyn, at 10:23 AM

Hi Lyn

I will almost certainly do a signing in the same Waterstones, Castlepoint, next summer. But please keep any eye on my Appearances schedule in case any other events pop up before then.

Thanks so much for your enthusiasm for my work!

By Blogger Peter James, at 6:29 PM

Dear Peter,

My apologies for not having come across your work before. I do not read many books, not because I can't but more because I am lazy and only have certain subject matter that interests me. I bought dead simple to take on holiday and it was utterly brilliant. I found myself rushing into waterstones soon after for more. "Looking good dead" had me hooked once again (though I thought the helicopter end was getting a little holliwood)however that will not deter me from purchasing "Not dead enough" as I have been eagerly awaiting its appearance on the book shelves.

Keep up the good work.

Anthony

By Anonymous Anthony Hill, at 2:03 PM

Bloody brilliant books!! Really wrecked my weekend coz I couldnt pu the last one down! Keep em coming Peter.......

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:52 AM

Sorry about your weekend!!!!! Mind you, when I'm near the end, like I am now, I spend all weekends writing the damn things... so I'm suffering just as much writing them as you are reading them ;-)

By Blogger Peter James, at 4:56 PM

Hi Peter. A memory test for you! In one of your books you mention something like "ForceLink was .... in the background (or behind) etc etc" referring to a piece of equipment running data/info in a Sussex police station. I have looked through all books available in Waterstones in Eastbourne and can't identify the title it appears in. I want a copy. I created and supplied the Forcelink system to Sussex Police, and to a number of other forces. It was installed on the set of The Bill from 1999 to 2002 and featured in quite a few episodes. It was nice to have the name immortalised in one of your novels, but please, can you remember which one??

By Anonymous Alan Damper, at 2:36 AM

Hi Alan

Great to hear from the inventor of ForceLink himself! I've checked the three Roy Grace novels and it is not in those. The ones in which I had extensive Sussex Police involvement are:

Faith, Denial, Host and Twilight.

Unfortunately those were written in days when I could not have the whole book as a single Word document so the only way I could check is going through chapter by chapter.

Are any of those four ringing a bell?

All best

Peter

By Blogger Peter James, at 8:16 AM

So! Peter you only answer positive comments!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:36 PM

I don't think that's the case at all - I reply to all comments both on email and my blog whether positive or negative. As I insist on replying personally, rather than use a secretary to answer for me, I'm afraid at times, like at the moment when I am rushing to finish my new novel, I get totally swamped and there may be some blog posts I miss. If so apologies! Which non-positive comment are you referring to?

By Blogger Peter James, at 3:52 PM

i am 19 and i love your books, i would love to meet the man behind all of these great books an it would be good if you could come to exeter. iam not normally much of a reader but your books captivated me.

By Anonymous natalie sanderson, at 3:51 PM

please reply to my comment and let us no if you do come to exeter

By Anonymous natalie sanderson, at 3:55 PM

Hi Natalie

I don't know when I will be able to come to Exeter - perhaps next year. But I am doing an event in Honiton, this coming Tuesday, which is not that far. The details are on my Appeareances schedule:

October 16: 7.30pm - Honiton Public Library, Devon. Tickets available from Honiton Library, 48-50 New Street, Honiton EX14 1BS - telephone 01404 42818

But in case you cannot make it, thanks so much for your kind words and hopefully I will get to do an event that works for you soon!

By Blogger Peter James, at 5:53 PM

Hi Peter, fantastic work, so very glad I discovered your books, looking forward to read all your other work,, regards

paula

By Blogger Alixandra, at 4:22 PM

Hi Peter

I loved Dead Simple and can't wait to read Looking Good Dead which I now have. I live in Nova Scotia now and find it very difficult to find your books either in the stores or Amazon.ca. Would love to see you over here and then maybe I can purchase your books much easier, its expensive ordering form the UK!!!! Please tell me you plan to visit here??

Glenda, Halifax NS

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:08 AM

Hello Peter
Love the Roy Grace novels; now started on other titles!! Just one question, have you found time to get any further with turning the first Grace novel into a TV series? Ha ha ha - just read your schedule, have you the time???!!!

Elizabeth Burke

By Anonymous Elizabeth Burke, at 10:05 PM

Hello Peter,
We met a couple of years ago at Janie Elliott's birthday celebration in Cannes. You and your wife were kind enough to share a taxi back to the airport with my friend and I. Since then, my Father has become an avid reader of your novels and I have just bought him the remaining four he hasn't read for Christmas! I would love to get a signed copy for him but couldn't see any dates for 2008? Perhaps, if you have a moment, you could advise if you have any UK book signings in Surrey or London?
Kind regards to you both.
Lisa

Hi Peter,
I'd just like to let you know how much I'm loving your work! I'm just finishing my first book I've read by you, Looking Good Dead, which I got from our book exchange at work, and I'm now in the process of buying all the books by you that I can. I can't believe that I've only just discovered your writing, but I'm soooo pleased that I have. I am looking forward to many weeks of good reading. Keep 'em coming!
Kind regards,
Jackie
